Grade 5 & 6
Mrs. Brenda Smith has been teaching 5th/6th grade at Kodiak Christian School since 2010. She is originally from Illinois but moved to Alaska in 1993 after marrying her husband, Carl, who is originally from Ouzinkie. They have three sons and have lived in Kodiak for the last 21 years. Mrs. Smith homeschooled her children until the youngest was in 5th grade, and God opened the door for teaching at Kodiak Christian School.
5th/6th grade at Kodiak Christian School is one class where curriculum is a mixed-rotation of grade levels each year to provide the two-year scope and sequence. The exception is Math (Saxon) where students are placed at their level for the best growth.

"I enjoy teaching and helping children learn. Each student is an individual with his/her own needs for nurture and growth academically, spiritually, socially, physically, and emotionally. It is my desire to provide a safe and stimulating classroom where students reach higher to meet their fullest potential at this time in their lives."
